Ann Drea Schnur, age 63, of Manassas, Virginia went home to be with her Lord on January 9th, 2012. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family, following a battle with lung cancer and a brain tumor. Ann was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Elwood S. and Audrey Haggerty. She had a wonderful childhood and graduated from Maynard Evans High School in Orlando, Florida. She met and married the love of her life in 1969, Steven George Schnur, while he was going to the University of Central Florida and later became a Director of the Semiconductor Technology Center for BAE Systems INC. They were blessed with the birth of their two children, Steven Scott in 1971 and Brian Michael in 1973. She stayed home to watch and guide her children until they moved to Virginia where she went to work as an assistant to a property manager for Long and Foster in Fairfax, VA where she worked for 20 years. She was later employed at the Voluntary Action Center in Manassas, VA before she retired to be with her grandchildren. She was also an avid reader, and also enjoyed quilting, Swedish weaving, and embroidery. The family was the most important thing she cherished, particularly her husband. She especially enjoyed spending hours with her grandchildren, watching them as they grew and developed.
Ann was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 42 years, Steven George; her two sons, Steven Scott and his wife Diane, her youngest son Brian Michael and his wife Melody; grandchildren Steven Alexander, Ann-Drea Nicole, Sarah Amanda Caitlin, Audrey, and Jonathan; two sisters, the oldest Diane and her husband Greg, younger sister Laurie S. and her husband Lance Taylor; two nieces, Tamara Lynn and her husband Tracy Dotson, and Jessie; two nephews Todd Gregory Simmons and his wife Melissa, and Gordon; great-nieces Amanda and Hayley; great-nephews Brandon, Jared and Derek; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and self-adopted family. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 13th, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. in All Saints Catholic Church, 9300 Stonewall Road, Manassas, VA, with Father Jeb Donelan officiating. The interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
